Our commitment to environmental sustainability and social impact
BelaStem is committed to creating a sustainable, environmentally and socially responsible marketplace. Although we do not exclusively feature farms that have gained certification from a reputable third party non profit organization, we actively recruit, promote, and work with farms to reach certain environmental and social standards.
In addition to lower emissions, excess packaging and waste via our direct from farm system, we actively recruit farms that have independently sought out certification from a reputable third party organization. BelaStem recognizes the following reputable third-party certification organizations that many flower growers have worked with through the hard work of becoming a certified sustainable farm.
Rainforest Alliance
Rainforest Alliance Certified flower and fern farms comply with the strict requirements of the Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard, which protects ecosystems and wildlife habitats, conserves water and soil, promotes decent and safe working conditions, and ensures that farms are good neighbors to rural communities and wildlands.

FlorVerde
The Florverde Sustainable Flowers Certification plan provides the standards and framework for the certification of flowers and ornamentals by independent and third parties based on the ISO / IEC 17065 standard. This scheme ensures that only those products whose processes meet the quality, and environmental and social requirements as established in the Florverde normative documents are certified.
The normative documents that make up part of the Florverde Sustainable Flowers Certification Scheme include:
- The Standard for the Sustainable Production of Flowers and Ornamentals
- The General Regulation for the Florverde Sustainable Flowers Certification
